I'll make a man out of you 4 [Loki x reader]

“Well I hope you enjoyed you little chat with Thor, because you’ll be enjoying them once a month.” you stated flatly as you leaned against the doorframe connecting Loki’s room to the main area. You waited for the shrug of his shoulder before you turned to walk away, but before you got more than two steps you bit your lip and went back.

“So… I guess you can have the rest of the day off since you haven’t gotten any down time in like a month.”  you awkwardly declared as you rocked on your heels. Loki actually turned to glance wearily at you and for the first time you actually saw how sickly he looked. A small spark of worry stab your heart; which shocked the crap out of you since you never worried about a trainee. You quickly reasoned that it was because you had never had a trainee who had his mouth sewn shut and pushed the feeling away.

“Hey, if Thor eats like a pig mixed with a cow, and you can’t eat anything how exactly are you supposed to survive with your mouth all jacked up like that?”

     Loki raised an eyebrow before he once again turned his back to you and you could hear the quiet sound of pencil on paper for a few moments before he held out the worn page for you to grab. You silently ‘wowed’ the calligraphy he called handwriting before you set to reading the explanation.

My rehabilitation would be of no use if I was unable to survive without food.

“But I’ve heard your stomach growl before, so do you still get hungry?”

      Loki nodded but refused to meet you gaze so you flipped his paper back to him and silently strode from his room and into your own. Although with him getting the rest of the day off and you unable to leave until Loki completed you r course boredom set in quickly. With a sigh you lazily dug out an old set of playing cards and set to work on conquering solitaire.  A tired feeling washed over you without warning, so without even bothering to put away the cards you flopped unto your back and let sleep overtake you.

    You jolted awake with a sharp gasp when an explosion echoed through the building.  You sat in momentarily confusion until another explosion sounded closer to you and the building trembled. You bolted from bed as fast as possible and went straight across the large main area and into Loki’s room.  You skidded to a stop once you noticed that Loki was still sitting on his bed where you left him, although his eyes were wide and he glanced around with what you called nervousness. You hesitated only slightly before you shot out your arm and cracked your knuckles on Loki’s shoulder.

“Had to make sure you were you and not a hologram.” you explained right before another tremor ran through the building.  This time you fell flat on your face and you could have sworn you heard Loki snicker from behind his closed mouth. The moment you were back on your feet you grabbed Loki’s wrist and pulled him along as you ran from the room. Within seconds you were out of the area specifically made for the two of you and headed for where you believed the action was.

“Now when we find whoever is responsible for this you will fight alongside S.H.I.E.L.D. If you don’t whatever agent is free at the moment will kill you. Is that understood?” you glanced behind you to make sure he nodded and once he did you focus returned to finding the intruder(s).

“What the…” you trailed off after you spied the dead body lying in a hallway, “Isn’t that one of those weird looking things that was part of your army?”

       The fear in Loki’s eyes made you bit the string of insults and accusations that threatened to leave your mouth, so without saying a word you seized Loki’s wrist again and carefully led him through the large amounts of rubble.
